The night before, we were told we were going out very early so I woke up really early too. I woke up at 5 am! I was the one who woke up my Mama and Papa. I was that excited about this day.
My Mama told me the boat ride, in what was called a faluwa, might be rough and that I might get seasick so I braced myself. I did get a little seasick but I fell asleep in my Papa’s arms so it was not too bad.
That’s the reason I’m looking a little ruffled still while I was driving the jeepney all by my lonesome.
My Mama thought it was best for me to stay in the jeep while I was getting over the faluwa ride and entertain myself with the wheel.
So by the time we were in Savidug, I was ready to roll.
It was very, very hot though and my eyes hurt from the bright sun so I took my Papa’s sunglasses to protect my eyes.
I loved Savidug. I went up and down the steps I could find. I went inside the houses. I even made friends with another little boy who was peeking from behind their house’s door.
Lola Remy said we could go inside the houses so I relied on that and invited myself in.
Shortly thereafter, we were on our way to another place. We stopped by this bright, vast field and it was really windy. I was thirsty by then so I was having me some sip from my bottle.
We didn’t stay very long and got inside the jeepney soon enough. Only to stop in this place where the first thing I saw was a big arch. Then we got down the jeepney, and boy, was it beautiful out there! I was so awed that I just had to clap my hands and learned how to say, “WoW!”
My Mama at first thought we weren’t going to explore the place much so we had our photos taken on the edge of this cliff where it was so windy. I thought it was so beautiful that I thought we were staying there and not leave.
But it was so bright.. my eyes began to hurt!

Putting on sunglasses requires some effort in this place. I feel like the wind's gonna blow us over.
My Mama left me with my Papa to explore further, only to come back, saying she was going to take me to see something I would really love. And I did love it so much! It was so beautiful!
We stayed longer than expected because all I wanted was to lay down there or sit there and admire the view.. and of course, contemplate my (short) life.
My Mama said we should get going now but I just wanted to stay there.
My Mama said it was okay to leave though because we were off to see more beautiful and interesting sights.
In Chavayan, I thought it would be nice if I did the customary photo by the welcome sign.
I was so tired from exploring all these empty streets with stone houses that I just had to stop and rest.
I also hurt my hand for some reason and that really bothered me.

The wind blew my hair in every which way. This happens to be my Mama's favorite photo. Taken by my Papa.
I also thought it was fitting that I get a photo with the thank you sign, this time.
I was feeling kinda sleepy by the time it was lunch time and we were on our way back to the port to have some lunch.
My Mama actually caught me picking my nose, thus, the guilty slash accusing look on my face
At the beach, it was so hot that my Mama, my Papa and I were just hanging out in some shade by the arch, just taking in all the view. My Mama was taking random photos while seated beside me.
Then Tita Maya thought it would be nice if we explored the water a bit. I had no plans of swimming but what the heck.
We first kicked off my sandals so it won’t get wet.. then the water got my pants so we took that off.
Then it was my Papa’s turn to play with me by the water, because I liked playing with the waves!
Pretty soon, all of my clothes were wet! We had to take everything off except my diapers.
We had no plans whatsoever to swim so we didn’t have any swimwear with us. But I took off all my clothes and then I saw something on the sand!
I asked if I could have my Mama’s sunglasses so she gave it to me.
I put it on over my eyes the usual way at first.. then I remember seeing how other people would just put their sunglasses over their head, like a headband. I thought it made for a great fashion statement.
Soon enough, we were on our way back to the port. When we got there, some of the other passengers weren’t there yet. So we hung around to wait. I saw this nice tricycle and I thought it would be nice to drive it. It looks just like my Papa’s bicycle, only bigger. Sitting on it feels like I’m sitting on my own tricycle, only its sooo much bigger.
Soon enough, we were boarding the faluwa back to Batan. The ride back was as calm and uneventful as the ride that morning so we all fell asleep. By the time we were back in Batan, I had recovered all my energy and had enough energy to play. It was just another fun day!
