You would think that after the first film, no one would be dumb enough to mess with him, but no. Let’s do it all over again!

After the sleeper hit, Taken, starring Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen, that took home an estimated gross of $226K, with a budget of $26K, written and produced by Luc Besson, and directed by Pierre Morel (District 13 From Paris with Love), comes Taken 2.

First, let me say that I love French films. I can’t seem to help myself from always talking (or blogging) about them, especially the action ones. Anything from EuropaCorp, I just have to go out and watch on theater, and get the DVD too.

The Taxi and Transporter series, Ong-Bak, District 13 series, From Paris with Love, Colombiana, Kiss of the Dragon, Crimson Rivers, Hitman, Unleashed, Tell No One are just some of the films that I loved from this film company. Any film associated with Luc Besson I just have to go out and see too. Even Michele Vaillant (which I never seem to disassociate from Inital D with Jay Chou).

What’s not to be excited about Taken 2, aside from the fact that we’ve seen the first film, it’s directed by Olivier Megaton, who directed ExitThe Red Siren, and Transporter 3, and served as second unit director for Hitman.

After that onslaught of names, film titles and links, here is the trailer for Taken 2, released June 21. The film is slated for release October this year.

“Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, a retired CIA operative who decimated an Albanian slave-trading ring to rescue his kidnapped daughter. A year later, on a trip to Istanbul, Mills gets a surprise visit from his daughter, Kim, and his wife, Lenore. The happy reunion turns sour when Lenore is taken by gangsters serving Murad, father of one of the fallen Albanian criminals. With his wife held hostage and Kim on the run, Mills must once again use his lethal skills to track down his wife and eliminate all who stand in his way.”

With, “What do you want me to do?”… “What I do best,” it seems that this time, Mills and his wife are kidnapped, and the only one that can save them is their daughter. But then, we could be wrong. All the more reason to go and be excited about this movie.

And someone on Youtube commented, “At least his daughter didn’t get kidnapped again. He probably trained her like Batman and Obi-Wan.”

And just in case, you were in some cave and didn’t know what Taken, the first film, was all about and why we we’re all crazy about it.

Bryan: I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
Marko: [after a long pause] Good luck.
