Last Year

Cubao X, Personal By April 7, 2011 Tags: , , , , , No Comments

I looked at my post exactly a year ago to see what I wrote on Lia’s first birthday, but surprisingly and actually sadly, found none. I did not write anything on Lia’s first birthday…

Anyway, since my friend Roma posts pictures on Facebook almost exactly a year late, I just got tagged on these photos.

This was taken at Lia’s first birthday party last year. Oh I still have that uber long hair that I somehow miss these days. Hmmm.

And after we were done with the party, we took Lia home so she can rest and sleep, and then went off with friends to hang out more and relax.. where else but Mogwai in Cubao X!

Thanks Roma for the pictures and the reminder! Very timely! 😛

New Year with Friends… All Love.

Personal By January 2, 2011 Tags: , , , , , No Comments

The traditional New Year countdown was held at our friends’ apartment, same as last year. There were games, like last year, charades; programs like our own version of Face to Face; even a raffle (of anything we could put our hands on); a photo shoot… and a rave party. And of course, drinks all around. I went home at four thirty in the morning, drunk like I have never been drunk before in years that I cannot even count. Fun could not even begin to describe how it was. Now we have the rest of the year to look forward to the next one. You, my U.P. Repertory Company family, has been my “family” for the past eleven years and I have nothing but love in my heart for you people, and my endless gratitude for being part of my life. Cheers to 2011 (and beyond!)

Jen is Home from Dubai.. and We Go to La Luz!

Batangas By December 10, 2010 Tags: , , , , No Comments

It was supposed to be just a day trip to the beach. Our plan was to leave Manila at 5am so we can be at Laiya by 8. Unfortunately, leaving that early is easier said than done. We left Manila at some time past 6am, had breakfast for maybe an hour at McDonalds in SLEX, and got to Laiya by 11am. I was not prepared for an overnight trip, at least not financially since these days I have not a penny to my name, and so was our rented van driver who had a commitment for the next day. I had to call Ced of Travel Factor to ask for a van contact that could pick us up from Laiya the next day and bring us back to Manila (another added expense) – but my friends had moolah, and were gracious enough to shoulder my share. Thanks friends!!!

La Luz Resort is nice. I had liked that huge hut that served us their reception area, right by the parking lot. From there on, one has to go down a flight of steps to get to the resort and the beach.

This is what you will see the moment you go down the steps from the reception to the beach

Our first order of business was of course, lunch. For the fee of P1,100 per person, one is entitled to buffet lunch, snacks, buffet dinner and buffet breakfast. Not bad! And that is what we ended doing half the time, EAT!

Madang’s Stint at Votre Bar

Personal, Theater By December 9, 2010 Tags: , , , , , , , , , , No Comments

Marvin Salazar, whom we fondly call Madang, had been participating in Votre Bar’s “Open Mic Comedy Show featuring The Comedy Cartel” every Wednesdays and the supportive friends that we are always made it a point to come and hang out. I made it one Wednesday night and it turned out to be a mini-reunion, since Jo-Harri, who was home on a vacation, also made it. This is another late post as the photos were taken last October 13th, but like they always say, better late than never.
